St. Albert Housing Society Resources

Big Lake Pointe

For those who qualify, 12 Nevada Place has affordable housing options on its one, two, and three bedroom suites, some of which are barrier free. In addition to being RCMP certified Crime-Free, Big Lake Pointe is within walking distance of schools, public transportation and a walking trail system.

HOMEConnection Program

The HOMEconnection Program is up to a year bridging program to assist individuals and families of modest means to transition to stable, safe and affordable living arrangements to improve their life circumstances.

Participants are required to partner with an appropriate community services agency to receive individualized support and assistance throughout the program.

This is to ensure participants have the resources and wraparound supports needed to reach their goals.  It is expected during this period, participants develop a  housing/sustainability plan, and secure gainful income and/or stable revenue to ensure long-term success.

The HOMEconnection Program is funded entirely through donations and charitable fundraising. As such, program capacity is limited to the level of funds raised.

Northern Alberta Housing Resources

The Northern Alberta Cooperative Housing Association (NACHA) is a federation of Housing Cooperatives. We offer a variety of information/resources including a monthly public information session that can assist families in becoming a members of a housing cooperative project.

Family Resource Centre

St. Albert Family Resource Centre (FRC) is a thriving and vital non-profit family resource centre serving families in St. Albert and the surrounding communities since 1982. We provide a variety of educational courses and workshops, as well as one-on-one support services, for families with growing children.

3rd-Party Financial Resources

City of St. Albert Utility Relief Program

The City of St. Albert, in collaboration with the St. Albert Community Village, offers residents the opportunity to apply for a Utility Relief Grant.  The program is being funded by the City of St. Albert, and is being administered by the St. Albert Community Village on behalf of the City.

Rental Assistance Program

The St. Albert Rental Assistance Program provides individuals and families with the ability to sustain appropriate housing. The program provides rental assistance for low to moderate income families and individuals to assist with monthly rent payments up to a max of one (1) year. To qualify, individuals and families must be gainfully employed, must meet the household income threshold, and must pay more than 30% of your gross monthly household income towards rent.
